"Corner Speed Is Where Time Is Made"

Conrad’s 10 Commandments

For

MX Improvement

1.                            THERE IS NO COASTING. You are either on the gas, or on the brakes.  The more you coast, the less control you have.

2.                            Ride loose but controlled.  Do not be rigid and tight on the motorcycle.

3.                            Use the power of the motor to keep the bike going straight and upright.  When you are in doubt, gas it some more.

4.                            Use your front (and rear) brake for strong and controlled stopping power.

5.                            Sit on the very front outer edge of the seat for cornering (while on the gas).

6.                            Land from jumps while standing and with your knees slightly bent but firm.

7.                            Trust in yourself (and your bike) that jumps can be made and obstacles can be successfully overcome.

8.                            Always look far ahead of you instead of right in front of your fender.

9.                            Be the PILOT of your dirt bike. Give it commands and it will respond.  Don't just be a passive, timid passenger. Be ACTIVE!

10.                       Stick your inside leg high in front of you while cornering, along side the radiator shroud, with your foot out at the front axle, not out to your side.
